What exactly does Drupal e.V. do?
Organization of DrupalEurope 2018
In 2018, Drupal e. V. organized DrupalEurope with the help of many volunteers as a replacement for the European DrupalCon.
Support for organizing a Drupal user group or DrupalCamp
Upon request, Drupal e. V. acts as the organizer of a Drupal user group or DrupalCamp.
In addition to renting event venues, processing supplier invoices, providing support with sponsorship issues, and providing an ordering system for tickets, the association offers the wealth of experience gained from past DrupalCamps.
Please note: When searching for suitable venues for DrupalCamp, certain institutions offer discounts if the venue is rented to a non-profit association.
Public relations & PR
Drupal e. V. organizes opportunities for the community to promote Drupal and the community at conferences and trade fairs. To this end, we co-founded a CMS-neutral non-profit association, CMS Garden e. V.. This association provides the communities of the more widespread open source CMS with a greater reach, bundles projects, and publishes publications.
Brand representation
Since 2010, Drupal e. V. (then still under the name “Drupal-Initiative e. V.”) has had the authority from Dries Buytaert to take action against violations of the brand guidelines in Germany. This is important because violations damage Drupal's reputation or distort competition, but only someone from the respective country can take legal action against them.
This regulation enabled us, for example, to stop the sale of Pokémon cards via drupal.de and thus provide information about Drupal in line with expectations.
The Executive Board of Drupal e.V.
Since November 8, 2024, the board of Drupal e.V. has been represented by the individuals listed below. They meet monthly and participate in various working groups to adequately represent and strengthen the Drupal brand in Germany.
1st Chairman: Frank Holldorff

1st Chairman: Frank Holldorff
Frank Holldorff is the founder of the Drupal agency erdfisch, has been active in the digital world for 30 years, and has been deeply rooted in open source and Drupal for over 20 years. As a consultant and entrepreneur, he has learned that the best results come from collaboration on an equal footing. He brings this attitude to his new role as board member of Drupal e. V., where he is committed to the exchange, further development, and visibility of Drupal in German-speaking countries. He has been actively involved in the Drupal community for years, whether as a co-organizer of events, a supporter of modules, or a mentor for new members. For him, it's not just about code, but about making the digital world better together. His heart beats for open source because it enables innovation, security, and independence—and because it's simply more fun to create great things together.
Deputy Chairman: Boris Böhne

Deputy Chairman: Boris Böhne
Boris discovered Drupal in 2006 and has been hooked ever since. He has been involved in the Drupal community since 2008, for example as co-founder of Drupal Meetup Stuttgart, organizer of numerous events (Drupal Meetup Germany, Drupal Virtual Coffee, DrupalCamping), and occasionally as a speaker. On the board, he maintains contacts with the community, supports camp organizers, and tinkers with the infrastructure. Boris earns his living as a freelancer, naturally with Drupal development. In his spare time, he is the guitarist in a peculiar rock band and the loving owner of a rabbit with strong opinions.
Vice-chairman: Pascal Crott

Vice-chairman: Pascal Crott
Pascal Crott is deeply rooted in the Drupal community and has been actively involved for years – whether as a contributor, speaker, or board member of Drupal e. V. His thing? Bringing people together, sharing knowledge, and working together on powerful solutions. Because without the community, Drupal wouldn't be what it is today.
His journey with Drupal began back in school, when he built websites with a friend and delved deeper and deeper into the system. He has been with erdfisch since 2011, where he combines design, function, and technology as a front-end developer and solution architect to create user-friendly digital experiences. But for him, it's not just about code – it's about designing things in a way that really makes sense. When he's not working on Drupal projects or involved in the community, you'll find him playing the guitar or piano. For him, music is just like open source: creative, open, and best enjoyed together.

Assessor: Holger Weischenberg

Assessor: Holger Weischenberg
Holger Weischenberg has been intensively involved in Drupal development since 2013, initially as a site builder and, since 2019, with a clear focus on front-end development. During this time, he has developed a deep passion for the versatile possibilities and flexibility of Drupal.
As a staunch open source supporter, he is not only interested in technical development, but also in actively shaping the community. In this context, he is particularly involved in the Drupal community and, together with others, leads the Drupal User Group Ruhr. He is keen to promote exchange among developers and provide new impetus for the use of Drupal. He has also been actively involved in organizing the last Drupal Camps Ruhr, gaining valuable experience in planning and running community events.
Assessor: Johannes Stahl

Assessor: Johannes Stahl
Johannes Stahl has been managing director of the Drupal agency werk21 since 2006. He sees open source and Drupal as a social project that aims to break down monopolies and dependencies in favor of the best solutions. At Drupal e.V., he wants to work to ensure that Drupal is once again perceived as the first choice for public administration in Germany.
