Henn is an internationally active German architecture firm with headquarters in Munich. The architectural firm is primarily known for its office buildings and industrial buildings. In the offices in Munich, Berlin, Beijing and Shanghai, 380 employees work in project teams of architects, interior designers, planners and engineers.
The collaboration with the Berlin brand agency stan hema and the Stuttgart-based Drupal agency arocom for the relaunch of the corporate website was launched at the end of 2020. In an interdisciplinary and agile collaboration, the concept, design and technical implementation of the relaunch of www.henn.com were created together with Henn-Kommunikation.
In the field of tension between technical brand and communicative requirements, aesthetic demands and the strongest possible brand language that can be experienced internationally, technical challenges and feasibility hurdles had to be overcome. True mobile first, component-based design system, partially decoupled frontend elements, layout builder backend with override function, teaser management, open asset DAM integration, animations and UX crossbrowser, flexible layouts, Persis connection, content synchronization + migrations with intranet solution, custom search + facets, GDPR compliance, multilingualism, SEO + usability. In short: modern solutions that create sustainable added value and can grow flexibly with Henn's requirements.
With the layout builder, Drupal offers a user interface that allows content managers to create content flexibly. In the project context, a solution was created to either output imported project data directly and automatically, or to enrich it manually using the layout builder, without having to forego changes if these are made in the leading systems (project database and central image management).
The layout builder and layout sections were then expanded to allow content managers not only to place content + components one below the other, but also to create completely dynamic and aesthetically exciting content constellations.
