Splash Awards Germany and Austria 2026
The Splash Awards for Germany and Austria are back! For the ninth time, the best Drupal projects from both countries are being sought. Following award ceremonies in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Mannheim and, most recently, Vienna, the Splash Awards 2026 are returning to Frankfurt.
9 Years of the Splash Awards in Germany
The Splash Awards Germany and Austria are the largest regional Splash Awards brand in Europe. Since 2017, these coveted awards have been presented to outstanding digital projects built on Drupal.
There have been numerous highlights over the years. Some of these can be seen in the following aftermovie of last year’s awards ceremony in Vienna.
The submission period has begun
The submission portal on the official website has been open for a few days now. This means that projects can now be submitted for the Splash Awards. As in previous years, the team is expecting more than 30 entries.
Each company is permitted to submit up to three projects. When submitting, companies can select a maximum of three categories in which they wish to enter their project. The final category allocation will be decided by the expert jury.
Important note: User accounts from previous years can be reused!
Jury members 2026
The expert jury, which assesses the entries each year, has not yet been finalised. However, some members have already been confirmed. Experience has shown that the expert jury is made up of individuals with interdisciplinary skills and experience, enabling a holistic assessment of the projects. In the past, the jury has comprised representatives from the open-source community, as well as designers, solution architects, Drupal developers and others.
Splash Awards International
The International Splash Awards are also making a comeback this year, following their previous staging as part of DrupalCon Vienna 2025: the awards ceremony for the international competition will take place at DrupalCon Rotterdam at the end of September.
Interested companies can submit projects for both the international and regional competitions and are therefore not required to choose which one to enter. Further information can be found on the official website.
